There is no hiding the fact that the India-Pakistan clash in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 is the most anticipated contest in the tournament. After a lot of deliberation, the tournament has been finally given a green signal by the Asian Cricket Council.
The tournament will be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28 with matches to be played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. India and Pakistan have been placed in Group A alongside UAE and Oman. Group B has teams like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, there are concerns over the India-Pakistan contest in the upcoming Asia Cup. The tension stems from India Champions' decision to back out from playing the semi-final against Pakistan Champions in the recently concluded World Championship of Legends.

Don't Compare Asia Cup Against Private Event - ECB COO Subhan Ahmed
Meanwhile, Emirates Cricket Board COO Subhan Ahmed has assured that the match will go as planned and there should be no reason to worry about the match getting cancelled.
“We can’t make any guarantees, but comparing the Asia Cup against a private event like the WCL is not a like-for-like comparison," Subhan was quoted as saying by TOI.
“When decisions to play in the Asia Cup are taken, government permissions are taken in advance. That has definitely been done before arriving at the decision to announce the schedule for the countries. So hopefully we won’t be in a situation as there was at the WCL," he further added.
India’s Asia Cup 2025 campaign will kick off against Oman on September 9 in Dubai. Then, they play the much-anticipated contest against Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai and their final league game against Oman in Abu Dhabi on September 19. India-Pakistan are expected to play as many as three matches in the tournament, including a possibility of both teams meeting in the final.

The Asia Cup is being organised by the ACC on the back of the recent Pahalgam attack by Pakistani terrorists. The Indian government then retaliated back with Operation Sindoor and still, the cross-border tensions have not settled completely.
