IPL 2025 title winner and RCB’s most valuable player, Krunal Pandya, is nearing his comeback into the Indian team after impressing the selectors with his all-round performance in IPL 2025.
According to reports, all-rounder Krunal Pandya was shortlisted in the probable squad list for the Asia Cup 2025, and there are positive signs that the 34-year-old could get another chance to play for the Indian team.

Breakout Season for Krunal Pandya
RCB signed Krunal Pandya for 5.5 crores despite his poor run with LSG; however, Pandya turned the tide around, starting with the ball. His role at RCB was clearly defined. Under skipper Rajat Patidar, Krunal was regularly given one over in the powerplay, two in the middle overs, and one at the death.

Pandya’s task was to deliver a breakthrough whenever the captain needed it, and he delivered each time. His best spell came in the finals against PBKS, where he produced a match-winning 2/17 that turned the game in RCB’s favor and earned him the Player of the Match award. The 34-year-old claimed 17 wickets in the season.

Meanwhile, Krunal’s form with the bat wasn’t consistent, but he stepped up when it mattered most. His best knock came against Delhi Capitals when RCB lost 3 wickets inside the powerplay while chasing a tough target on a sluggish pitch. Krunal, alongside Virat Kohli, stitched a key partnership and scored an unbeaten 73*, guiding RCB to a successful chase of 165 in under 19 overs, a performance that also earned him Player of the Match.

Krunal’s last appearance for India came in the 2021 T20I series against Sri Lanka. He was later overlooked as Axar Patel was preferred alongside Jadeja, and his dip in form didn’t help his case. However, his consistent hard work and match-winning efforts might finally pay off, as he is now in line to make a comeback for the Asia Cup 2025.
