Summary

This is the first time the Netherlands and Bangladesh will be playing against each other in a bilateral T20I series.

Bangladesh vs Netherlands T20I series

Bangladesh are set to host the Netherlands for a three-match bilateral T20I series ahead of Asia Cup 2025 next month. The Tigers would ideally take these games as dress rehearsal for the Continental Cup.

This is the first time the Netherlands and Bangladesh will be playing against each other in a bilateral T20I series. The Netherlands are expected to arrive in Bangladesh by August 26. The three T20Is are scheduled on August 30, September 1 and September 3. All the matches will be played in Sylhet. The matches will start from 6 PM local time.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) arranged this bilateral series after the BCCI pulled out from their proposed tour to the country, where they were scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is from August 17 to 31.

Bangladesh 4-0 Ahead In T20Is Against The Netherlands

The Netherlands have played just one T20I in Bangladesh, which was in the 2014 T20 World Cup. They beat Ireland in that game to progress to the next round. Bangladesh and the Netherlands have played five T20Is between themselves with the Tigers winning four of those games. All the matches played were part of previous T20 World Cup editions.

Previously, Bangladesh's preliminary squad for the Asia Cup 2025 was announced on Monday, August 4.

Bangladesh To Begin Preparation Camp For Asia Cup from August 6

Meanwhile, as part of the preparation for this series and the Asia Cup next month, the BCB has arranged a fitness camp on August 6. The practice session for the Asia Cup will begin from August 15 in Mirpur before it shifts to Sylhet on August 20.

"The camp will begin in Dhaka on 6th August. Everyone will arrive and it will start with fitness training. However, before the start of the skills training part, the camp will move to Sylhet,” BCB cricket operations chairman Nazmul Abedin.
"The coaches will begin to arrive around the 11th, 12th, or 13th. Once the coaches are here, skill-training will begin but that camp will then shift from here (Dhaka). We are hoping to move the camp to Sylhet. The team will train there for a few days. Then, we will play the series against the Netherlands there," he added.
